Features

• The +5.6V 3-terminal voltage regulator (U109) on the Arcam AVR 250/280/300/350 series of receiver gets extremely hot during normal operation leading to the appearance of faults and the main board being damaged.
• This regulator can be removed and mounted on a small printed circuit board and bolted to the front panel metalwork to keep it cool.
• It is then connected by small flying leads to the main printed circuit board.
• Great care should be taken drilling the mounting hole to avoid damaging the PCB behind the metal plate.
• Board has options for a fusible resistor R1 and a voltage booster diode D1.
• Local decoupling may be improved by installing C1 and C2 underside.
